A Trio from Piemonte of a somewhat unusual composition, with the doublebass player Aldo Mella rhythmically supporting two keyboards, -The Piano of Alberto Tafuri & the Accordion player Roberto Bongianino-, Animalunga brings together musical personalities, very different from one another ; Mella is an expert Jazz player, a doublebass player in the New Quartet of Franco D'Andrea; Tafuri has collaborated with many prominent Italian singers, like Fabrizio De André (in Anime salve ), Fiorella Mannoia, Jovanotti, Enrico Ruggeri; Bongianino, Is the youngest, and has worked in different contexts, apart from playing Accordion he is also a guitarist with a passion for the blues. The result is a fresh Cd, in which the sounds mingle and entwine, communicating all the melodic elements with ease ,very present in tracks like “Animalunga” or Troppo Amore” mixed with Jazz Rythms, also thanks to latin reminiscence imported secretly by the accordian, Eccelent the overall test of the musicians, with Mella who makes the best of his jazz experiences,( listen to the beautiful introduction to “Tina & Julio”) Tafuri who plays ( and well i might add) with lyricism, but also with blues (Listen to the solo in “Parole non dette”), & Bongianino, with an instrumental style thats sober but not standardized, the use of the bandoneon together with the accordion, develops well into the role of "outside" additional value. An interesting formation to definately follow in the future .
